OK, problem solved, i found at win pc (i am using Mac) installed Imagburn, bought Verbatim DVD+ DL and then everything vent smooth....

So ones again THX to teamw for the post, looking forward to the 2013 version.

So, I tried to burn it with naother burner. It shows "Instaling new map - 210 min left", after 10 seconds, it shows "Unable to read the disc". In the first page it is possible to push BACK and go to navi, but there is still asking for updating.
Does anybody know how to cancel the updating process? My maps are 2010 (have no DVD map - I bought this car without DVD) Now I bought original 2011, but it is impossible to run it with DVD 2011 due to updating prosecc of 2012.

As I've said several times in this post - try again, with another burner, another DVD, another burning software etc, until you get it right. And you will.. eventually.

I have downloaded V1 from another site & wasted three double layers. I always got the same issue like reported in this thread:
"Installing new map - 210 min left", after 10 seconds, it shows "Unable to read the disc".

Then I found this site and the link from teamw.
So I have downloaded V2, burnt it and now I’m at 140 minutes with no issue at all. And I’m using cheap blank disks, since the Verbatims are on their way.

My specs:
Car: Volvo V50 2009
DVD writer: Build in burner on Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820TG laptop
Blank DVD 1: MediaRange DVD+R, 8.5 GB Double Layer, 8x
Blank DVD 2: Verbatim DVD+R, 4.7 GB, 16x
Burning software: Brasero (DVD 1@2.4x, DVD 2@4x)
OS: Ubuntu (Linux)

Hi guys
I had the same problem as gronomo, I mean update stopped and I was in trouble.
I had bad version of update. When I downloaded update from #23 problems disappeared.
Many thanks to gronomo for describe yours problems, this help me very much.
By the way.
I burnt a few coppies on a different writers (not on the list of recommended - on lenovo desktop, hp desktop) and everything was fine.
But I trusted to NEC from 2005, which as the only burnt on 2.4x (the rest on 4x).
Verbatim of course. I used imgburn.

I Have a 2009 Volvo S40. I have tried to update my Navi with 2012 maps, all things works good with the first DVD and with the second DVD until remain 80 minutes. Now I have a error "can not read disk". I have burned another DVD+R but same error. What can I do to compleate the update?

I managed to successfully install, navigation works very well, but only if I keep disc1 in the optical drive to work, what I can do?

What can you do ... what can you do... You can keep disk 1 in the optical drive?

PS

Recent versions of the RTI HDD nav only work with Disk 1 inside the optical drive at all times. If doesn't use data from it - works only like a validation key.
