Hello!
Firstly, congratulations to Explosion on the great work!
Regarding the countries not included in the RTI system, I have had a proposal, for quite some time now, it costs nothing to try:
Volvo/Navteq never released RTI maps for certain countries and certain navigation systems. Such is the case of Volvo RTI MMM DVD-based satnavs. Now, is it because they do not care or is it because they don't know that those maps would be required in those certain countries? Someone probably needs to request those maps. Well, those would actually be updates for the current MMM/P2001 versions. I cannot imagine it to be that difficult, as long as Navteq already has data for those missing countries. As long as they insert new data into each new update, basically, what they need to do is to insert the data for those certain missing countries. In fact, I guess it wouldn't be of less interest that they separately release and sell a DVD only including those countries that have been missing by date. This might just work, at least in Europe. I, myself, should buy a DVD including countries such as Iceland, Romania, Serbia and Kosova, Bosnia Herzegovina, Makedonia, Montenegro, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Albania, Russia and so on.
Therefore, what I suggest is that you should request, via e-mail, your own country map in the next update for Volvo RTI MMM systems. Let them decide whether the request is or is not big enough for them to include your country in the future updates.
Here are the adresses I already sent my e-mails to:
gcr@volvocars.com
developer_account_support@navteq.com

I was wondering how the hell you are finding wich country is wich in that .csv (dont mind taking it to newby, I know my way around a computer)
Which files should i delete in the IDX folder, if I dont want Denmark in my navigation.
I hope you can understand my question
And thanks in return.
Volvo C70 MY 2004 owner
Okay now i got it! (I google translated Heimdallr´s post)
But I can´t get it under 4.7GB? I have deleted every country exept my own (witch is under 200mb)....
how do you do it ?![]()
First of all, don't use different color in your writing, that's not nice! Second, writing to Navteq is only loosing time, cause NQ doesn't decide what will be included in map updates, that's only decision of Volvo company, and what they request and order from NQ!
So, right adress for complaining is Volvo company, even i think they don't care too much about it, cause RTI MMM is now old built-in system, and that cars aren't more in Volvo production, so they don't have interest for some older models, to pay NQ for widing coverage, speically for EE, where isn't too much sold those old Volvo models with RTI MMM. Probably widing coverage will request signing new agreement with NQ and new payment for that, so little chance that Volvo will do that...
However, you can try to write Volvo, but NQ isn't right adress for help about widing coverage of EE RTI MMM maps, to NQ can be reported only errors on recently maps, for fixing, and nothing other, they don't speak with little customers about widing coverage, only with manufacturer, in this case = Volvo.
