Does the unit also behave this way with an original DVD?
This is typically an example of a very poor copy
Use another DVD writer and certainly another brand of DVD Verbatim should be the right choice

          Re: Opel DVD100 Navi problem

There are various reasons why the unit cannot locate you in the correct position on the map
          • As far as I know the the Canary Islands and Madeira are not even on the map DVD
          • There may be a problem with the GPS unit in the computer
          • The DVD may be a poor copy
          • The speedsignal to the unit is interrupted
You have not answered my earlier questions:
What is the behaviour of the unit with an original DVD?

I can assure you that you can burn a good copy with Imgburn. About alcohol I am not confident!

              OK

              One more question then:
Have you {accidently} activated the demo mode?

                  Re: Opel DVD100 Navi problem

You should have told that in the first place.

The unit seems not to have been properly un-programmed from the earlier vehicle it has been used in
It is essential that unprogramming is performed with the unit in the car.
If it comes out of a wrecked car and has just been taken out, there is absolutely nothing that you can do about that
The unit may be completely useless as it is

I know of only one guy in Germany that could program the unit in a test rig but even that is difficult

But in this particular case, a message 'Display safe' shall occur and one sound every one second.

                        Re: Opel DVD100 Navi problem

In your case, you have added GPS system but originally you got something like CD30 mp3 or something similar. So I can assume you have bought an GPS antenna, is it a Opel one or a "standard" one?
have you a Cd update? And in the test mode when you press Audio you have the menu of the GPS. In this GPS testmode there is a reset function, have you tried this?

                            Hi there

                            Check this out:
As you can see there is teh way to update and the reset option as well. Look, I have never used it but I guess this resets the unit and then you need to update the unit with the last software!
                            Hope this helps!
Try to update again or I can assume something wrong with the unit.

Although the advice should certainly be appreciated, I fail to see the relevance between a DVD100 unit and the update procedure for the CD70 navigation

If you intend to run the SW update for the DVD100:

                              Please go ahead
