It is not a MS5000 but a derivate
You will have to ask VW but I doubt if there ever was an update since the system went out of production in 2003

I have 2004 Phaeton. But the VDO dyton Cd does not start working.
I have burned Disc for many cars and they works, but this is not working. Whats wrong? Any tricks?
I burned with pioneer, IMGburn software, speed 4x, used verbatim cd, second mode and finished the disc. Something else need to do?

A 2004 Phaeton with factory fit navigation uses the "nprmal" Navteq Non C-IQ cd's
Has it occurred to you that the unit might be defective?

But the old original CD is working fine!

In that case you did make an error
I have burned many cd's for Phaeton navigation but never encountered any problem
Are you confident that the copy is really in Mode 2?

                    PS
A set of CD's from Navteq costs Euro 169, the same set from Volkswagen for Phaeton costs Euro 599

I added a picture about that. The Cd wokred in BMW, but not in phaeton.
But mayby disconnecting the battery for some time will help me? Will erase some old firmware or something?

                        Re: Phaeton 2005 year Navigation

Nothing will happen if the battery is disconnected but the system will not be reset either. So I thinks it is pointless
You will need the radio security code of course

Have you compared the contents of the old cd and the new one?
Are the files and or structure identical?
Are you sure it is still the CD system
