  • Tom Tom Truck help needed

Hello folks, Im having a little problem maybe you can help me with please.
I have downloaded the truck mapping preferences onto a 4gb micro sd card and gone through the tutorials that were on here to the letter, now I can not find them on here!!
I am now getting a message when I insert the card into my tt it recognises there is a truck map there but i get the message on my tt screen "Problem with map, you can not use this map on this device: Europe_truck-109
    does anyone have any advice?
    Regards in advance Stevie

Which navcore do you use? For trucknavigation the only navcores you can use are the 8.39* versions.
Do you use an original navcore or a patched/SE version?
Did you use a keymaker to activate your map? In this case you have to activate the Europe_truck-109.meta and the Europe_truck-109.tmeta file.
    EasyDCT_Maker will do the trick.

Re: Tom Tom Truck help needed

I think you have to use the ttgo.bif file. It's in the root of your memory-card.

But I think you better use the Easyusetools to make your .dct files. Because Easyactivator can't make the .dct file to activate your Europe_truck-109.tmeta file.
You can find it here in the TomTom Open Tools & Tweaks section.

Just put your deviceID in the DeviceID.txt file (CAPITALS - no space)
copy your Europe_truck-109.meta and Europe_truck-109.tmeta to the "insert meta from map here" map
        start RunMeforDCT.cmd
choose option 1, again choose option 1.
Look if the program says OK. If not, update your meta.txt
Exit Easyusetools. You can find your new .dct files in the "insert meta from map here" map.
Copy them to your Europe Truck map.

Look at message nr 4. I've made some changes.

Do you use an original navcore or is it an SE or patched version?

I would personally use keygen 2010 4.1 D never had a problem with it. Patch the navcore and the maps ignore the corrupted map error. should then be done.

Re: Tom Tom Truck help needed

Some computers have problems with the Keygen because of the anti virus program. That's why I do my patching and activation by hand. And this way, you know what you're doing.

You will have to use Easytools as the truck maps have 2 metta txt files which need activating at the sam time and iv found that this is the only program that can do it.

My system is TOMTOM V1 32mb Navcore 8.395 with western europe full map on a 4gb card all working no trouble.
                  Hope this helps

keygen 2010 4.1D does it also and i think you mean meta and tmeta not metta.txt

No prob. I had to disable virus software on a pc to run it but i do like the simple interface. Windows 7 users note to get it to run you may have to right click the tomtom4.exe icon and run as administrator otherwise you may get an error.

I have TT 540 and have uploaded Navcore 8.395 and Europe_TRUCK_840_2554 onto 4mb MicroSD card. Patched map and navcore and tt works fine with Live Updates and Map Share etc, etc. Still have UK and Republic of Ireland maps in Internal memory and can swap between maps but...

When I swap to TT Truck and make size of vehicle it comes up with the following error

"The current map does not contain truck attributes. truck routing can therefore not be supported. Car routing will be applied"

Looking in the TRUCK map directory there does not seem to be a tmeta.dct file and using easytools I still don't seem to be able to create it. Easytools saysit cannot find file and to be honest I'm now that lost as to what files should be where that I cannot see me succeeding. Within the map directory are the TRUCK meta and tmeta files and they are also within the "Insert Meta from Map Here" Directory.

Any help would be appreciated as I am so close to getting this thing to work :-)

OK as the navcore and maps are loaded and seem to be working, am I right in presuming that I needto get the tmeta.dct file on the SD card. I have just run Runmefordct and its saying "No meta.txt found"

Where should the runmefordct file reside. I have it in the "Insert_Meta_from_Map_here" directory along with two meta files which, after looking at them in Notepad just contain a pile of gobbledegook. There is a deviceid file there along with a truck.pna file and a truck meta file and a truck tmeta file and now the runmefordct file. Does this sound right. The truck meta file is 305kb and the truck tmeta file is 25k.
