Anyway - i was test kyttys1234 solution and updating is via factory TomTom account - and work well - so it's a posibility atleast - a better price instead to buy from TomTom officialy.

Re: TomToms using navcore v10/v11/v12 can be UPADATED

All GO versions before the list below are able to run the Truck Navcore and truck map when enough memory availalble

All of the newer TomToms from September 2010 onwards (such as the GO1000 range and all VIA models) do NOT show up as a drive on the computer and therefore cannot be accessed or edited. The reason is because they are using Linux based file systems instead of FAT/FAT32.

        GO 800/1000/2000 series
        Via series
        PRO 9100
        Start 20/25/40/45/50/60 Series
Blue & Me TomTom 2 LIVE
        Sony XNV
        TomTom Connect

This mean, devices made before september 2010 have still the possibillity to upgrade to a Truck device.
There is only one restriction, there must be enough memory availble.

All credits are going to Lemonfish which offer us this information.

If it's a xxl with only 2gb flash memory, NO
Only the map is already near 2.4gb

It's not a problem when your device use an SD card.

It is actually possible to install the Truck software on devices with only 2Gb of memory. A special custom version of the map has been created by removing as much as possible of the original version. Unfortunately though it is without POIs and Loquendo files and on 32Mb RAM devices it operates too slowly to be of practical use.

              I wouldn't recommend it.

If it's the one with this specifications, only maps less than 2gb
You need some space for Navcore or speedcams, extra voices and so on.
